Guests Book The Area
Let guests book an area instead of choosing a numbered site. Camper BMS gives each booking an available site in the area, and guests see the area name instead of the site number. For example: a park with camping zones A, B and C sets each zone up as an area, adds one site for every booking the zone can take, and turns on Guests Book The Area.
Turning It On
When you create an area, answer No, they book the area to Do guests choose their own site? in the area wizard, or switch Guests Book The Area on in the full form. To change an existing area:
Open the campsite area.
On the Details tab, scroll to Guests Book The Area.
Switch it from Guests Can Choose A Site to Guests Book The Area.
Click Update Area.
Remove any individual pricing from the area's sites first. The setting saves only when every site in the area uses the area price.
What Guests See
The area's booking page shows Book Now only. Choose A Specific Site, the site list and the site map are hidden.
Each booking is given an available site in the area, so the area takes as many bookings as it has sites.
The area name is shown with the label Area on the checkout and confirmation pages, the booking PDF, the guest's account, the self check-in page, the confirmation, extension and cancellation emails, and group booking invoices.
The
{SITE_NUMBER}placeholder in your emails and messages shows the area name.
What You and Your Staff See
The admin shows the site number as usual: on the booking, the calendar, the check-in dashboard, housekeeping, your booking notification emails and the admin booking PDF. When you create a booking in the admin, you can still choose a specific site.
Letting Guests Choose a Site Again
Open the area's Details tab.
Switch Guests Book The Area back to Guests Can Choose A Site.
Click Update Area.
Guests can choose a site again straight away, and new emails and documents show the site number.
