Online Part Payments
Let guests pay an invoice online in more than one payment. The guest chooses how much to pay each time, from a minimum you set up to what they owe.
Turning On Online Part Payments
Go to Settings and open Invoice Settings.
In Online Part Payments, turn on Let Guests Pay Part Of An Invoice Online.
Under Invoices Guests Can Pay Part Of, tick each kind of invoice: booking invoices, lease invoices, utility bills and other invoices.
Enter the Minimum Online Payment (AUD). The smallest online payment is $1.00, even with a lower minimum.
Click Update.
For example: with a $50.00 minimum, a guest owing $300.00 can pay $50.00 or more. A guest owing less than the minimum pays what they owe.
What the Guest Sees
The guest opens the invoice's payment link, from the invoice email, their account, or a statement.
Above the payment form, Amount To Pay (AUD) shows the range they can pay. The amount starts at everything owing.
To pay part, the guest enters an amount and clicks Pay This Amount. The page then shows the amount being paid now and what will still be owing.
The guest pays by card or wallet as usual.
The receipt page shows Latest Payment, Paid So Far and Still Owing, with a Pay The Rest button on your booking page. The guest can download a receipt for each payment from their booking or lease in their account.
The guest is emailed a payment receipt for each payment. While part of the invoice is still owing, the email has a Pay The Rest button.
What Happens to the Invoice
Each online payment is listed in the invoice's payments in the Invoice Actions modal, with its own receipt.
The invoice shows Part paid while money is owing, and is paid once nothing is owing.
You can record payments at the office on the same invoice. See Recording Payments and Part Payments.
Invoices Paid in Full Online
A kind of invoice that is not ticked is paid in full online. For example: with only lease invoices ticked, a guest pays part of their rent but pays a booking invoice in full.
An invoice that mixes GST treatments, such as a long stay with a standard part and a concessional part, is paid in full online.
Direct debit collects whole invoices. Once part of an invoice is paid, direct debit no longer collects it, and the rest is paid online or at the office. An invoice being collected by direct debit is paid by that collection.
