Lease Only Areas

Some sites are never let by the night. If you only ever let an area on a lease - annual, seasonal or permanent sites - the Lease Only setting keeps that area off your booking page while leaving it fully available to you and your staff in the admin.

Lease Only is a setting on each campsite area, so you can hold some areas back for lease holders and keep letting the rest by the night as usual.

What Lease Only Does

With Lease Only switched on, the area is left out of:

  • your booking page, so a guest searching for dates never sees it

  • your booking widget, wherever you have embedded it

  • any availability feed you send to a channel manager

Everything else about the area carries on as normal. You and your staff still create bookings and leases on its sites from the admin, its sites appear on your calendar and reports, and any bookings already on the area keep running to their dates.

Turning On Lease Only

  1. Open the campsite area you want to hold back.

  2. On the Details tab, scroll to Lease Only.

  3. Switch it from Available To Book Online to Lease Only.

  4. Click Update Area.

The area leaves your booking page straight away. Team members need permission to manage your campsite areas to change the setting.

Letting the Area Book Online Again

  1. Open the area's Details tab.

  2. Switch Lease Only back to Available To Book Online.

  3. Click Update Area.

The area returns to your booking page immediately, with its existing pricing and availability.

An Example

Riverbend Park has 40 powered sites it lets by the night and 6 seasonal sites held by annual tenants. Switching Lease Only on for the seasonal area means a guest booking online only ever sees the 40 powered sites, while reception can still put a lease, or a short booking for a tenant's visitor, on the seasonal sites from the admin.

Things Worth Knowing

  • Existing bookings are untouched. Switching the setting on does not cancel or change anything already booked. If the area has upcoming bookings taken through your booking page, those guests still arrive as normal - check the area's calendar before you switch it on so you know who is coming.

  • Pricing still applies. A lease only area keeps its pricing, and bookings you create in the admin are priced from it as usual.

  • Set a price even so. An area that charges but has no pricing set cannot be booked online at all, and your dashboard will show an alert until you set one.

  • It is not the same as blocking dates. Blocked dates close an area for a period; Lease Only takes it off your booking page entirely, with no end date.
