Category Pricing Basics

Each campsite area has its own prices. You set them on the area's Pricing & Rates page, either with the Pricing Wizard or by filling in the page yourself. All sites in the area use these prices unless a site has individual pricing.

Accessing Pricing

Navigate to your campsite area and click Pricing & Rates in the sidebar. An area with no pricing yet opens straight into the Pricing Wizard. You can open the wizard at any time with the Use The Pricing Wizard button at the top right of the page.

What This Area Charges

This card shows the prices you have saved for the area. It updates when you click Save Pricing.

How This Area Charges

Free or Paid

Use the Pricing toggle to switch between Paid and Free. A free area hides all price fields and guests book it without paying.

Pricing Model

Choose Per Site or Per Person.

Per Site - each night has a price for the site, covering a set number of guests.
Per Person - every guest is charged the nightly rate.

Dynamic Pricing

The Dynamic pricing toggle switches between Manual Pricing and Dynamic Pricing. Dynamic pricing sets each night's price from your booking history, between your off-peak and peak prices. Turning it on opens a pop-up. Tick the acknowledgement, click Turn on dynamic pricing, then click Save Pricing. See Dynamic Pricing for details.

Extra Guests

On Per Site areas, Guests included in the site price sets how many guests the site price covers. Leave it empty to use the area's minimum guests.

For example: with minimum guests 1 and 2 guests included, a solo guest and a couple both pay the site price, and a third guest is an extra guest.

Then choose how each extra guest is charged:

Not charged - the site price covers everyone.
Per night - each extra guest is charged for every night of the stay.
Once per booking - each extra guest is charged once, whatever the length of the stay.

You set the amounts in the Extra Guest Charges card.

Children, Babies and Toddlers

Child Rate

Set the Child rate toggle to Yes to charge children their own rate. On a Per Site area, choose how extra guests are charged first.

When the child rate is on, set Ages charged the child rate with From age and Up to and including (up to 17). Anyone older is charged as an adult. Anyone younger stays free.

For example: from 4 up to and including 15 charges ages 4 to 15 the child rate and treats 16 and 17 year olds as adults.

Child Reduction

A Per Person area with dynamic pricing shows Child reduction (%). Each child is charged the night's per-person price less this percentage. For example: with 50, a child pays $30 on a night that costs an adult $60.

Babies and Toddlers

Set the Babies and toddlers toggle to Yes to ask guests how many babies and toddlers are coming. They stay free.

With the child rate on, babies and toddlers are the ages under the child rate's From age.
With the child rate off, set the age in Babies and toddlers are under age.

Whether babies and toddlers count toward a site's maximum guests is set on Booking Limits.

A yellow warning appears at the top of this card when the settings leave children paying the full adult price or nothing. For example: a Per Person area with the child rate on and no child price set.

Base Rates

This table sets what a night costs in the area. For GST registered parks, every amount includes GST where applicable.

The columns are Standard, Peak nights and Off-peak nights. With dynamic pricing on, the columns are Standard, Peak and Off-peak.

Standard - the price for nights outside your peak and off-peak dates.
Peak nights - the price for nights on your peak dates.
Off-peak nights - the price for nights on your off-peak dates.

An empty peak or off-peak box charges the standard amount. The box shows the amount it falls back to as grey placeholder text.

The rows depend on the pricing model:

Per Site: The site. This price covers the guests included in the site price.
Per Person: Each person.
Per Person with the child rate on and manual pricing: Each adult and Each child, aged X to Y. An empty child box charges the adult price for that season.

For example: a Per Person area charges $30 standard and $40 peak, with a child price of $15 and the child peak box empty. Two adults and two children stay one standard night and one peak night. The standard night costs $90 (2 x $30 + 2 x $15). The peak night costs $160 (4 x $40, since the empty child peak box charges the adult peak price). The total is $250.

Extra Guest Charges

This card appears on Per Site areas that charge extra guests.

The rows are Each extra adult and, with the child rate on, Each extra child, aged X to Y.

Per night - the columns are Standard, Peak nights and Off-peak nights. An empty peak or off-peak box charges the standard extra amount.
Once per booking - a single Per booking column.

Adults fill the included guests first, so children above them are charged the child amount. With dynamic pricing on, extra guest charges stay at their standard amounts every night, for adults and children. The peak and off-peak extra amounts apply with manual pricing.

Worked Example

A Per Site area includes 2 guests in the site price and takes a maximum of 6. The site costs $37 standard and $47 peak. Extra guests are charged per night: an extra adult is $12 standard and $15 peak, and an extra child is $10. The child rate is on for ages 4 to 15, and babies and toddlers are on (under 4).

A party of 3 adults, 2 children and 1 under 4 stays one standard night and one peak night:

Standard night: $37 site + 1 extra adult $12 + 2 extra children $20 = $69.
Peak night: $47 site + 1 extra adult $15 + 2 extra children $20 = $82.
Total: $151. The under 4 stays free.

A party of 1 adult and 2 children on the same two nights pays $104. The adult and one child fill the 2 included guests, so one extra child is charged each night: $47 + $57.

With extra guests charged Once per booking instead, the party of 3 adults and 2 children pays $116: $84 for the two site nights, plus $12 for the extra adult, plus $20 for the two extra children.

Peak and Off-peak Dates

With manual pricing, use the Peak nights and Off-peak nights date pickers to choose which nights charge the peak and off-peak amounts. For example: school holidays, Christmas and Easter as peak nights, and mid-week winter nights as off-peak nights.

A night on both lists charges the peak amount. Nights on neither list charge the standard amount.

Saving Changes

Click Save Pricing to apply your pricing.

Pricing Wizard

The wizard sets up an area's pricing one question at a time. Click Next to move on (or press Enter), and Back to return to the previous step. Click Set it up myself at any time to leave the wizard and fill in the full page.

Does this area cost anything? - choose whether guests pay to stay or the area is free.
How do you charge? - choose A base price for the site, plus optional charges for additional people (the site price covers a set number of guests, and each guest above that is charged the additional person rate) or A price per person (every guest is charged the nightly rate).
What does a night cost? - enter the standard price. Add peak and off-peak prices if your prices change with the season. You pick the peak and off-peak dates on the pricing page after you finish.
Extra guests (Per Site only) - set Guests included in the site price. Choose to charge for each extra guest or have the site price cover everyone. Then choose per night or once per booking, and enter the extra adult amount, with peak and off-peak extra adult amounts.
Children, babies and toddlers - choose whether children pay a cheaper rate or everyone pays the same. Set the child ages, then the extra child amount (Per Site) or the per-person child prices (Per Person). Choose whether to ask guests how many babies and toddlers are coming, and set their age.
Check it over - review your answers, then click Save pricing.
