Navigation Settings

Camper BMS ships with a lot of features, and not every campground uses all of them. Navigation settings let you hide the ones you do not need from your side navigation, so your team sees a shorter, more focused menu.

Hiding Is Not Disabling

This is the important part: turning a feature off here only hides its sidebar link. The feature keeps working exactly as before. Any data it holds stays put, anything already set up keeps running, and you can still get to it by searching with Cmd/Ctrl + K or by following a direct link or bookmark.

Think of it as tidying your menu rather than switching anything off. If you want to genuinely turn a feature off, that is a separate setting - Housekeeping is the one feature with a true on/off switch.

Changing What Appears

  1. From the campground menu, open Settings > Navigation. It is the second item under General.

  2. Set each feature to Shown or Hidden.

  3. Click Save Navigation.

The sidebar updates immediately, and you can change your mind here at any time.

What You Can Hide

These settings are per campground, so a quiet site and a busy one can have different menus.

  • Messaging - guest conversations and messages.

  • Surveys - guest feedback surveys.

  • Ballots - random draws for busy periods.

  • Leases - long-term and seasonal leases.

  • Discounts - discount codes for bookings.

  • Add-ons - bookable extras and add-ons.

  • API Tokens - API tokens for programmatic access.

  • Mailchimp - sync guests to a Mailchimp audience.

  • Webhooks - send event webhooks to your own systems.

  • Widgets - embeddable booking widgets for your website.

  • iCal Channel Sync - import and export availability via iCal.

Core areas such as bookings, customers, campsites, invoices and settings are always shown and cannot be hidden.

Navigation Versus Permissions

Navigation settings and staff permissions solve different problems, and it is worth not confusing them:

  • Navigation settings tidy the menu for everyone at that campground. They are cosmetic and are not a security control.

  • Permissions control what a person is actually allowed to do, and stop them reaching a feature at all.

If you need to stop staff using something, do it with groups and permissions rather than by hiding the link. See Staff, Groups & Permissions.

Setting This Up For A New Campground

You are asked to make these choices when you create a campground, at the Features step of the onboarding wizard. Whatever you pick there is simply the starting point for this page. See Campground Onboarding Wizard.
